Asko Dishwasher Fire Hazard 2007 D5000 | CPSC

Asko dishwasher fire hazard 2007 d5000 — read this important safety alert for full details and affected models.

The 2007 Asko CPSC Recall #07-154 extended to the upper D5000 series models, covering a distinct group of units sold through premium appliance retailers and custom kitchen installers. These higher-specification dishwashers shared the same junction box design flaw as the base D3000 models but were distributed through different channels, requiring a separate outreach effort.

The overheating junction box was positioned adjacent to insulated wiring in the base pan. Under sustained high-temperature wash programs — common on D5000 units due to their intensive and sanitize cycles — the heat accumulation could exceed safe limits and ignite surrounding materials.

D5253, D5254, D5424S, D5434S, D5436, and D5554 built between March 2003 and March 2007 fall within Recall #07-154. Serial number ranges are available from Asko support by providing the full model and serial number from the door-frame label.
