Asko induction cooktop notice — read this important safety alert for full details and affected models.
Asko induction cooktops emit electromagnetic fields (EMF) that can interfere with implanted cardiac pacemakers, defibrillators, and cochlear implants, and individuals with these devices should consult their cardiologist before using or standing near an operating induction hob. This advisory applies to all Asko HI-series induction cooktops and the induction zones on Asko combination ranges.
The electromagnetic field from induction cooking is concentrated directly above the active zone and diminishes rapidly with distance. Asko’s induction hobs operate at frequencies between 20 kHz and 100 kHz — a range that is known to interact with certain older pacemaker models and some implantable loop recorders. Newer pacemaker generations with improved EMI shielding may be less susceptible, but only a cardiologist familiar with the specific device model can confirm safe use.
At-Risk Individuals
- Individuals with implanted cardiac pacemakers or defibrillators (ICD)
- Individuals with cochlear implants
- Individuals with implantable loop recorders or neurostimulators
- Pregnant women in the first trimester (precautionary — evidence is inconclusive)
Safety Steps
- Consult your cardiologist or device manufacturer before first use of any induction appliance.
- If cleared for use, maintain at least 60 cm (24 inches) distance between your torso and the active induction zone during cooking.
- Do not lean over an active induction zone for extended periods.
- Turn off induction zones before reaching across the hob surface.
- Advise household members with implanted devices of the EMF risk and establish clear kitchen safety practices.

When to Call a Technician
This is a medical safety advisory, not an appliance fault. If you experience palpitations, dizziness, or device alerts near the cooktop, move away from the appliance immediately and contact your cardiologist. Do not resume use without medical clearance.
